Flagger
Summary:
Under the direction of the Foreman, the Flagger will be responsible for performing traffic control duties and maintaining safe work zones in accordance with all governmental and company safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed: follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including monitoring signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; specific flagging duties may vary according to the job assignment and environments.
  • Utilize radio or other forms of communication to relay traffic signals to work crew and other regulators.
  • Lift, carry and place traffic cones to ensure the safety of the work zone. Lifting may be up to 50 lbs.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Achieve and maintain any related certifications or qualifications required to perform the job
  • Have reliable transportation to travel to various job sites and arrive at designated start time.
  • You will be expected to be available Monday through Saturday and occasionally on Sunday.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in stressful situations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and remain attentive to traffic conditions and other factors affecting safety and production.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read instructions, safety regulations, company policies, and keep simple written records.
  • Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and maintain good public relations.

Additional Notes:

  • Will require extensive travel and the ability to work overnights.
  • Requires exposure to variable weather conditions typical to the Midwest
  • Requires being able to tolerate and work effectively in variable weather, and dirty and dusty environments for long periods of time.
