Job Summary;

Oversees all aspects of accounting, financial management and reporting for the organization; uses accounting and economic skills to evaluate operating data, business trends and prepare financial statements that align with industry practices, regulatory requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Main Responsibilities:

* Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
* Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
* Manage all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for consolidated company financial information; responsible for all financial reporting obligations to our parent company
* Collaborate with regional leadership and accounting staff to provide guidance and support while ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives
* Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing strategic insight to senior leadership
* Oversee month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, construction revenue recognition, inventory, account receivable, account payable, reserves, accruals, fixed asset, lease accounting and variance analysis; work with regional accounting teams to assure proper flow of accounting information
* Implement and maintain robust cost control measures to optimize profitability and minimize risk
* Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements, optimizing cash management strategies to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies; conduct regular audits and reviews as necessary
* Lead internal and external accounting audit processes; provide support during audits
* Assist in development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's long-term objectives
* Lead and mentor team of accounting professional, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
* Perform related project work and other duties as assigned

Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
* CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFM (Certified Financial Managers), or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred
* Valid drivers' license with clean driving history required

Skills:

* 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in accounting/financial management roles required; experience in heavy-civil construction or similar industry preferred
* 5+ years of demonstrated success in leading, managing, and developing teams
* In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations with ability to apply them effectively
* Ability to work with a diverse team, and promote mentorship and professional development of staff
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
* Proficiency in MS Office Programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Proficiency in accounting programs (JD Edwards Preferred)

Physical Requirements:

* Most work performed in an office environment, quiet to moderate noise level
* Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 35 pounds
* Frequently required to sit for long periods at a desk using a computer
* Occasionally required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; visiting work sites may require walking over uneven terrain and some exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noise
* Some travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
* Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
* Regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing, and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
