Job Summary:

IPG interns will hit the ground running in a fast-paced, collaborative environment tackling real time manufacturing challenges. You will work in concert with experienced engineers on a process improvement or development project, the results of which will be presented to your team at the end of the summer. At the conclusion of your time with IPG, you will have gained unique knowledge and lifelong connections.

Job Functions:



  • Experience semiconductor laser growth and characterization
  • Support engineers in the areas of MBE systems and their maintenance.
  • Analyze performance statistics and provide feedback for manufacturing step optimization
  • Support production engineers in troubleshooting hardware/software issues
  • Qualify manufacturing processes through yield, performance, repeatability studies

Requirements

Education:



Must be enrolled in 3rd year of a relevant engineering degree program with a College or University, preferred disciplines:



  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Physics
  • Material Science


Experience:



  • Familiarity with MBE systems, device growth and post growth characterization.
  • MBE Engineering Intern will support the growth, characterization, and maintenance of thin-film semiconductor materials.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles
  • MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio)


Required:



  • Must be able to work from the IPG facility located in Oxford MA
  • Must have reliable transportation to arrive to work on time

Pay Range:


The pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location posted, the applicable range could differ. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.



Benefits Interns receive:


- Medical Insurance (BCBS Saver Plan, no company match) - eligible after 90 days of continuous employment based on scheduled hours per week.

- 401k (Age 21+ eligible after 1,000 hours of continuous employment).

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

- Sick time (accrued based on hours worked)
