Overview

Our team is seeking an Inservice Testing (IST) Program Engineer that will be responsible for various technical tasks associated with ensuring the requirements of IST are met for various nuclear plants. This position will be part time and can be located in Kennesaw, GA, Chattanooga, TN or remotely for a highly experienced candidate.


Responsibilities

A typical day could involve comparing IST program requirements to ASME Code requirements, conducting independent research to support regulatory projects, monitoring changing regulatory trends, or developing client relationships. Other activities may include:

  • Technical Engineering & Analysis: Apply IST engineering expertise to support development of long-range inspection and testing strategies for ASME Code Class pumps and valves within the IST program scope. Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs. Support 10-year interval update tasks for the IST program
  • Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance: Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of industry requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry within the realm of IST. Ensure successful implementation of IST program such that INPO requirements and license renewal commitments are fulfilled
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Develop relationships with current and potential clients' technical staff with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction and proactive identification of support opportunities. Interface routinely with plant engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure effective execution of the IST program, maintain client satisfaction, and proactively identify opportunities for program support
  • Data Management & Program Accuracy: Maintain and update IST component and test data in plant databases (e.g., IDDEAL) and perform configuration, component, and documentation updates as required to support program accuracy and traceability #LI-MB1

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or similar relevant experience and technical education
  • 7+ years of experience in the nuclear industry, AND a minimum 2 years of IST experience in the nuclear industry
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operations
  • Must possess general knowledge of work order planning process and outage scoping process at a nuclear power plant
  • Ability to interface with other site organizations (Chemistry, Design Engineering, Operations, etc.)
  • Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, INPO, ASME and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making
  • Ability to work in time constraining environment while maintaining a quality product
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment

Pay Range

USD $50.00 - USD $85.00 /Hr.

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
