Who we are looking for:

Provides technical sales support to assigned region within the Americas where clients include a diverse base having industry-leading products in medical, transportation, electronics, defense and aerospace markets. Collaboratively supports the region's Territory Sales Managers (TSM) and Applications Engineering to progress the TSM's technical service and sales efforts for new and existing customers. Assists in developing new prospects and interacts with existing customers by phone and/or in person to help the TSM increase sales. Supports the coordination of application development activities with TSM, SCS team members and customers and assists in the application's development process to achieve the customer's objectives for SCS products and services. May include travel to other SCS facilities,
trade shows and customers within the defined territory. This position serves as a developmental role for future sales management, engineering or marketing opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Supports achieving or exceeding supported territory's sales forecast and budget.

* Functions as a Parylene applications consultant for pending new and existing customers. Present in the coating facility to manage the transition of the customer's application requirements to engineering.

* Assists the mobilization of the necessary resources (materials, personnel, equipment, etc.) to support successful application of SCS' products on the customer's product(s).

* Participates in initial screening of incoming sales leads received by phone, email, trade shows, etc. Helps identify applicable contacts at targeted customers.

* Qualifies, packages and then uploads new opportunity leads for hand off to the TSM.

* Supports and assists marketing activities (trade shows, webinars, etc.) on an as-needed basis.

* In support of the TSM, develops a strong partnership with marketing for understanding customer needs, defining product/service offering and means to establish contacts at new customers.

* Supports sub-vertical account penetration strategy with TSM and Marketing Team.

* Stays up-to-date of changes and developments in the field through training, reading, researching, classes and seminars, and in discussions with other SCS departments.

* Develops technical understanding of the business, which allows them to support resolution of field problems and to become a resource for customer's needs.

* Professionally represents SCS values, products, services and capabilities. Supports business interactions using ethical business practices.

* Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assists in hosting potential customers at the applicable coating center

* Learns, uses and maintains SCS' lead management system: Opportunity Tracking Database (OTD).

* Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.

* Follows guidelines in Company Vehicle Use Policy.

* Supports content for reports, business correspondence and sales updates to executive staff.

* May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

* Travel in region and SCS' facilities is estimated at up to 25% of time.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Business or Marketing major (technical discipline strongly preferred); or a technical (Associates) degree and two or more years of related work experience in a sales or marketing capacity, preferably in a technical environment.

Maintain a valid vehicle driver's license in U.S.

Will need to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport if international travel is required.

BASIC SKILLS:

* Relationship-driven with ability to be articulate and converse well with prospects and customers.

* Possesses well-developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

* Is proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word software.

* Possesses the ability to manage resources and multiple priorities and must be able to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization as well as customers.

* Is able to achieve compromise between groups by bringing clarity to complex or complicated problems.

* Possesses analytical and technical skills within field of expertise. Has ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and then draw valid conclusions.

* Is adept at maintaining communications with Sales, Engineering and Operations and other disciplines in order to support customer focus and efficient operations.

* Has proven ability to address groups (public speaking) and provide effective training.
