You will work in our McKinsey Client Capability Network (CCN) in Boston, as a part of the Banking team within the Panorama Financial Institutions and Insights consulting (PFIC).
As a part of PFIC NA Banking team, you will support consulting teams on client engagements with research requirements on banking related topics. This will include consolidating data across multiple sources, developing unique perspectives, creating client-ready materials and other tasks as needs arise.
You will conduct primary and secondary research within the Banking's domain using proprietary and third-party data sources.
You will be responsible for packaging research findings in the form of client ready-end products which could be power point presentations and/or financial models.
Over time, you will be expected to develop expertise within the topic of banking and drive research and development of new knowledge as well as contribute to broader knowledge development and proprietary assets.
Additionally, you will be an active member of the global PFIC community and develop relationships around the globe to build on your knowledge and provide support to the broader network as needed.
PFIC is one of the largest knowledge and analytics teams globally and part of the FIG practice, with 240 members and a global footprint across 30+ countries, focusing on financial services domains, e.g., Retail banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth & Asset Management, Fintech and Insurance.
The Retail Banking team within PFIC also has a global footprint, with members based across Brazil, France, New York, Costa Rica and India.
There is flexibility to hire at the Specialist level, depending on your experience.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or another relevant field with a consistent outstanding academic record is required; master's degree is a plus and preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in financial institutions, research agencies or digital strategy consulting
  • Knowledge of the North American financial sector
  • Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts
  • Demonstrated business research experience in an academic or business setting is preferred
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data manipulation
  • Proficiency with generative AI tools and demonstrated experience leading gen AI transformation (internally and/or with clients)
  • Ability to accomplish work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, including balancing multiple priorities or projects at the same time
  • Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to structure a problem, disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
  • Possesses high quality standards, a commitment to completing tasks within deadlines, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
