From your PASSION to ours

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Drafter/CAD Designer based in Buffalo, New York. As a Drafter/Cad Designer, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to create precise 2D and 3D technical drawings and models for manufacturing engineering, or construction using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. The role includes create conceptual designs and transforming into technical specifications and ensuring those specifications follow all applicable Standards. Additionally, the Drafter/Cad Designer will collaborate with engineers to refine, update and finalize project designs to align duties with the company's goals and values

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

* Create detailed 2D layout and 3D modeling for production layout, building structures and equipment arrangement.

* Ensure all drawings conform to industry standards, codes, and projects specifications.

* Revise, edit, and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, and other key stakeholders.

* Maintain digital files, document revisions, back-ups of technical data and support documentation and issue final release for project managers. Create Document Directory of project drawings.

* Conduct site/field visits to measure, collect data, and verify designs.

* Assist plants engineers to update plant drawings to reflect as-built changes to final drawings.

* Assemble component drawings for general arrangement including overall dimensions, workspace restrictions

* Develop 3D model using scanning tool and convert the 3D scan to Revit model.

* Attend preliminary meetings with engineers and suppliers to understand the project scope and specifications. Maintain regular communication and update team members of design progress.

* Attention to detail when creating and reviewing complex designs to ensure high level of accuracy.

* Ability to work in a team and communicate technical data effectively.

* Understanding of manufacturing processes, construction methods, engineering principles, or willing to learn these in a short time.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Associate degree in CAD, drafting, or engineering technology, or a certificate in CAD drafting

Experience

  • 5+ years in CAD drafting experience is preferred.

Certifications and specific knowledge

  • The following certification is required for this role: CAD Drafting.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software is required.
  • Understand of geometric dimensioning and tolerating, drafting standards, engineering principles, and mathematics

Work Conditions

  • Travel may be required up to 25% monthly.
  • Extended hours may be necessary depending on the project needs.
  • To fulfill these responsibilities, tools such as a computer may be provided.
  • This position requires physical presence in the office, in accordance with the guidelines of the Hybrid Work Policy.
