Job Summary


The Electro Mechanical Technician is responsible for assembling, integrating, and testing automated machinery, robotic systems, and custom equipment builds. This role involves mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and pneumatic system installation while supporting system validation and troubleshooting. The position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality equipment builds and continuous process improvement.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble mechanical components, frames, fixtures, subassemblies, and automated systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform precision alignment of actuators, slides, sensors, and tooling.
  • Install pneumatic systems, including tubing, valves, and fittings.
  • Wire control panels, sensors, motors, and power systems following electrical schematics.
  • Route cables and harnesses to ensure organized and serviceable installations.
  • Support engineers with input/output checkout, machine debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct mechanical dry runs, functional testing, and system validation.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic programming issues during startup.
  • Perform basic robot or PLC adjustments under guidance from engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including build notes and engineering change feedback.
  • Follow standard work procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Recommend improvements to machine design, assembly processes, and component selection.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to support project goals.
  • Assist with field installation, commissioning, and service support as needed.


Job Requirements



  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in automation, mechatronics, machine building, or industrial maintenance.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with automated machinery, robotics, or custom equipment builds.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, pneumatics, and basic electrical wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Experience using hand tools, measurement instruments, and shop equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices and standards.


Work Experience



  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with automated machinery, robotics, or custom equipment builds.
