Responsibilities:

  • Perform management oversite of the Licensing and Operations Departments responsible for managing personnel, clients, contracts, business development, and recruitment.
  • Support the Business Unit Director in the day-to-day execution of the Business Unit including tracking BU performance against planned goals.
  • Serve as Project Manager or Project Director for projects as needed.
  • Provide technical input and oversight in the role of a chief or lead engineer for design projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 15+ years of direct experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in most aspects of project management and project control activities with the ability to become proficient in all.
  • Experience in developing operating and financial plans.
  • Some knowledge and skill in prime contract formation, negotiation, and administration.
  • Technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction techniques, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
  • Skill in oral and written communication as well as applying team building concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with project controls and/or project management, project budgets including cost estimating, cost control and cost analysis, project scheduling, implementation of corrective actions, developing and delivering detailed and accurate status reports and basic knowledge of/and experience with engineering functions and principles required to understand and successfully implement and monitor technical projects.
  • Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes.
  • US Citizen.
  • Successful drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Department of Energy (DOE) or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) at headquarters, contractors, and/or field office level, or with state and federal regulators.
  • Experience in successfully leading multiple projects through the standard phases to include initiation, planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up and testing, and close-out.
  • Experience reporting to and communicating with multiple supervisory organizations/stakeholders.
  • Previous experience on a planning team and/or detailed engineering design.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, 40-hour work week.
  • This position will be onsite at the BGS corporate office in Oak Ridge, TN.
