Essential Job Duties
The Dairy Process Operator is a leadership role responsible for the end-to-end production of safe, high-quality dairy products within the Dairy Processing Lab and associated pilot plants. In this role you will oversee all aspects of the operation, from the receipt of raw farm milk-including its evaluation and quality testing-to the batching, processing, packaging, and storage of finished goods. As the Operator you are expected to work independently, lead subordinate staff, and ensure compliance with all local, State, and Federal food safety regulations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate advanced dairy processing equipment, overseeing batching, pasteurization, and packaging.
  • Manage raw milk intake, including evaluation, transportation, and acceptance.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility sanitation.
  • Conduct quality control tests (microbiological, butterfat, titratable acidity) to ensure product safety.
  • Lead, train, and direct subordinate employees in daily production tasks.
  • Handle route sales and product delivery as needed, representing the department to customers.

If you are a proactive leader with hands-on expertise in dairy processing, a commitment to product quality and safety, and the ability to guide and motivate a team while managing end-to-end production operations, we encourage you to apply.
