Office of Student Financial Assistance (SSWB):

The Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB), is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

The Financial Aid Coordinator oversees student loan programs in support of the effective administration of student financial aid programs, assisting students and families with understanding financial aid eligibility, application processes, and the requirements for receiving aid. This position requires a detailed understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies, as well as a commitment to student success. The Financial Aid Coordinator I will develop proficiency across all areas of financial aid administration, with a focus on becoming a subject matter expert (SME) in their assigned unit within the financial aid office.

Responsibilities:



  • Assist with postloan processing activities to ensure accurate and timely completion of student loan awards.

  • Review, award, and adjust student loans and other financial aid funds in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Provide guidance and counseling to students and parents regarding loan eligibility, application requirements, and award status.

  • Monitor and manage the unit's shared email account, responding to inquiries and tracking loan acceptances and required follow-up actions.

  • Manually award and adjust financial aid funds as needed to resolve discrepancies or special circumstances.

  • Research and resolve student financial aid issues, escalating complex cases as appropriate.

  • Review financial aid records for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to loan processing and award adjustments.

  • Collaborate with other financial aid staff and campus partners to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ year of experience in administrative and/or studentfacing roles within a higher education or similar environment.

  • Experience advising students on financial processes and institutional procedures.

  • Experience reviewing, processing, or adjusting financial records or funding transactions, including loans or other aidrelated programs.

  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on communication, problem-solving, and positive experiences.

  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including accurate data entry and Microsoft Excel for data organization and reporting.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships across teams and organizational levels.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students.

  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills, including the ability to assess situations, evaluate alternatives, and apply logical reasoning to develop effective solutions.




Special Instructions to the Applicants:



  • New hires selected for this position at the University of Central Florida can expect to be offered the base rate of $19.16 per hour for the role. Compensation is determined in alignment with UCF's pay structure and internal equity considerations.

  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.
