A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Provide support to the Legal team on a broad range of in-house matters, including legal research, contract review, employment and data privacy support, and assistance with corporate and regulatory work (e.g., SEC-related drafting and filings), with the goal of developing practical in-house legal skills.

The Summer Intern for our Legal Team will;

  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings on commercial, employment, data privacy, marketing, and other regulatory topics.
  • Assist with reviewing and drafting routine commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, and SOWs (with appropriate supervision).
  • Review marketing and external-facing materials for legal/compliance considerations (e.g., claims substantiation) and internal policy alignment.
  • Support litigation and dispute matters by organizing documents, conducting targeted research, and drafting outlines, memoranda, and other written work product; assist with responses to subpoenas and other thirdparty requests.
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory projects, including summarizing laws, regulations, and guidance relevant to the medical device and digital health industries.
  • Assist with preparation of internal guidance materials, policies and training resources
  • Provide general project support to Legal team as needed

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Current 1L or 2L at an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic performance.
  • Prior work experience in a professional setting is a plus.
  • Prior knowledge of insulin pumps, infusion sets, or digital health a plus
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently on assigned tasks with appropriate guidance.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity, good judgment, and adaptability.

WHEN & WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office 2-3 days per week but may vary depending on business demands.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The base pay range for this position is $40.00 per hour. Base pay could vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market.

Please note that is a temporary position. As a temporary employee you will be employed through a staff agency partner. Benefits during your temporary assignment may be provided by the staffing agency. Access to Tandem sponsored benefits is contingent upon conversion from temporary to regular full-time status. Conversion is determined based upon business need and job performance.
