What You'll Do As an Industrial Project Manager II, you'll lead medium- to high-scope industrial projects with a strong emphasis on process/chemical facility work-driving scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client confidence across complex projects executed in live plant environments.
- Lead mid-size, multidisciplinary industrial projects involving process systems, plant expansions, utility upgrades, brownfield modifications, and production support infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary contact between clients and the SSR project team while driving Total Project Success across scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Coordinate project delivery for facilities such as food manufacturing plants, chemical/process facilities, renewables operations, petroleum-related projects, power stations, and other industrial environments.
- Lead project kickoffs and define project execution expectations for technical teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Develop staffing plans and man-hour budgets with the Senior PM, CRM, Department Head, or Operations Director; assist in estimating project cost and hours.
- Establish realistic schedules that account for long-lead equipment, shutdown windows, operational constraints, phased implementation, and construction sequencing in active facilities.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, organized, and properly stored; identify and administer additional-services fees when scope changes occur.
- Monitor project risks related to quality, safety, constructability, schedule, budget, and client operations; determine causes and lead corrective action with the design team.
- Prepare and implement proactive QA/QC plans tailored to complex industrial/process projects where coordination accuracy is critical.
- Collaborate with process/chemical, mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and controls disciplines to ensure coordinated solutions for plant and process environments.
- Guide client conversations around scope clarification, design decisions, schedule impacts, operational constraints, and delivery risks.
- Pursue ongoing internal and external training to deepen expertise in industrial/process project delivery and strengthen leadership capability.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Construction, or Civil Engineering and 10 years of relevant working experience with advanced knowledge in industrial/process, chemical, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 10 years' experience in project management/execution with an understanding of standard project management processes/procedures
- Direct experience leading industrial projects involving process equipment, chemical/process piping, utility infrastructure, plant upgrades, facility expansions, or brownfield/live-facility design and construction coordination
- Experience working with food manufacturing, chemical, renewables, petroleum clients, construction of mid-size industrial plants, or power stations is strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Competent in AutoCAD and other visualization software applications such as Microsoft Visio and Project.
- Thorough knowledge of project financial activities including budgeting, projections, reporting, and project management practices.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial project execution in active plant environments with schedule, safety, and operational constraints.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering projects with process equipment, piping, utilities, plant support systems, and production-critical infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of all engineering disciplines practiced by the firm; expert within your engineering discipline.
- Presentation skills to command attention and manage group processes, strong written communication and speech clarity.
- Organizational strengths to orchestrate multiple activities; effective delegation, relationship management, and active listening.
