Job Summary

The General Laborer is responsible for safely handling, stacking, labeling, and securing composite lumber products. This role ensures materials meet customer requirements and company quality standards while maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

Schedule

  • 12-hour rotating shift (2-3-2 schedule)
  • Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Weekends: Alternating weekends required

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Move, stack, and secure lumber products and materials according to instructions
  • Stack finished products based on predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Label materials accurately according to product type, size, and quantity
  • Apply individual tags to materials before and/or after treating or production
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot minor equipment issues as needed
  • Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follow company policies and customer specifications for proper material stacking
  • Verify correct quantities are strapped, bundled, and labeled before materials leave the work area
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies or issues to a supervisor
  • Record production data on production sheets accurately and timely
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Assist other departments by moving materials and loading/unloading material carts
  • Participate in safety meetings, continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, and other required programs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
  • No prior experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience is a plus
  • Basic math skills required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
