Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Contract SQL Server / SSIS Developer to support and enhance business-critical data pipelines and batch processing systems. This is an individual contributor role with immediate delivery expectations, requiring a self-driven professional who can quickly understand existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable solutions in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop, enhance, and maintain SQL Server-based batch processing solutions using SSIS packages.
  • Design, build, and support ETL workflows and data movement pipelines.
  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Monitor and support scheduled batch jobs, ensuring timely execution and quick resolution of failures.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies, job failures, and performance issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to batch processing and data pipelines.
  • Document SSIS packages, batch processes, data flows, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with QA teams, production support, and full-time engineering staff to ensure seamless delivery and system stability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of batch processing frameworks and data pipeline reliability.


Required Qualifications



  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development or data engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages.
  • Deep expertise in SQL Server, including:

    • Writing complex SQL queries
    • Developing and maintaining stored procedures
    • Performance tuning and query optimization


  • Proven experience building, maintaining, and supporting SQL-based batch jobs.
  • Working knowledge of .NET / C# in backend systems or batch processing workflows.
  • Experience supporting scheduled and automated jobs in production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, particularly for batch failures and data integrity issues.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver under tight timelines.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with enterprise job schedulers such as SQL Server Agent, Control-M, or AutoSys.
  • Familiarity with production support processes and incident management.
  • Experience working in high-availability or business-critical data environments.
