This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule. 3 days on-site in Plantation, FL and 2 days remote.

The Merchandise Analyst assists the Category Manager with merchandising strategy and execution for the hair care category



  • Assists with execution of category strategy to maximize sales and profitability for every day and seasonal programs meeting financial goals and increasing market share.
  • Analyzes market trends and consumer behavior within the assigned category and makes recommendations based on analysis. Excellent Excel skills required.
  • Shapes and executes strategies for the front store and collaborates with cross-functional enterprise partners and external partners to achieve goals.
  • Assists with product assortment, including selection, pricing, promotional strategy, and inventory levels in partnership with other business partners.
  • Identifies opportunities with product innovation expansion within the category.
  • Collaborates with the support team for their business including pricing, Finance, Inventory Planners, Planogram designers, Store Operations and Core counterparts to achieve the merchandising objectives as it relates to the Strategic plan.
  • Works with vendor management to include collaborating, interviewing, developing strategies, and negotiating.
  • Finds supply chain efficiency and solves DSD distribution gaps.
  • Builds category budget forecasts based on Pillars of Growth and market trends.
  • Run and provide reporting as needed.
  • Post ads and seasonal programs assessments.
  • Secure seasonal and incremental opportunities as applicable.


Merchandise Analyst Responsibilities:

Daily:

Handle day-to-day requests from internal teams and external suppliers

Own full business relationships of certain vendors

Business maintenance (zone alignments, vendor maintenance, cost corrections etc.)

Support Hair Care category

Weekly/Monthly:

Weekly reports and pulling insights on the businesses.

Pull Inventory reports and assist with next steps

Help with Ad plans, submissions, and vendor communications (managing scans, sending their promotional plans, reviewing what is working and what is not so we can adjust)

Evaluate weekly comp ads to review pricing strategies and shoppers in the different markets

Determine and identify items in stores that need cleanup and markdowns

Pricing:

Comp shop on key brands to review the retails

Make changes to pricing systems based on approval. Assist on COG forms and submission.

POG:

Pull necessary reports as needed to analyze the category

Work with CM on presentation decks

Fill out NIF forms and vendor creations for resets and midyears

Work with vendors on sending RISD any necessary samples and or fixtures

Preferred Experience:

Spanish language skills helpful but not required.

Experience as an assistant buyer
