Job Description

Conformal coating PCB positions involve applying protective, thin-film layers (acrylic, silicone, and urethane) to assembled circuit boards to prevent damage from environmental factors like moisture and dust. Key positions range from manual operators to robotic programmers, focusing on masking, spraying, dipping, brushing, and inspection to ensure uniform coverage.

Key Job Positions & Titles

  • Conformal Coating Operator / Technician: Prepares, coats, and inspects boards, ensuring no bubbles or pinholes.
  • Robotic Coating System Programmer: Programs and operates automated spray systems for high-volume, precise application.
  • Coating Touch-Up / Rework Specialist: Manually repairs, masks, and inspects specific, delicate areas on PCBs.
  • Manufacturing Specialist / Assembler: Combines coating application with broader electronic assembly tasks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation: Cleaning boards (isopropyl alcohol) to ensure adhesion.
  • Masking: Protecting connectors and switches using Kapton tape or liquid latex.
  • Application: Using sprays, dipping, or dispensers to apply the coating.
  • Inspection: Using UV lighting to verify coverage.
  • Curing: Using ovens to solidify the coating.


Job Requirements

  • Experience with IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Familiarity with soldering rework (IPC-7711/7721).
  • Fine motor skills for handling small parts.
  • Ability to work in a robotic conformal coating system or with one.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • MUST BE US CITIZEN
