Position Summary

The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex manufacturing projects by analyzing customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Sales to ensure quotes reflect true manufacturing costs and align with business objectives.

This position also serves as a customer-facing technical resource, supporting discussions around manufacturability, pricing, and project scope while helping drive profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• * Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates
• * Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production, and Engineering teams to validate materials, labor, and process assumptions
• * Develop and deliver detailed quotations that align with company pricing and margin goals
• * Analyze discrepancies between quoted and actual costs; recommend adjustments to pricing or processes
• * Maintain accurate estimating data, customer requirements, and quote history within ERP systems
• * Evaluate tooling, fixtures, and equipment requirements and incorporate associated costs into estimates
• * Participate in contract review to ensure alignment between quoted scope and production execution
• * Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements and support manufacturability discussions
• * Support material pricing, cost modeling, and technical problem-solving across departments
• * Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and follow-on business

Qualifications

• * Experience in manufacturing estimating, cost analysis, or technical quoting
• * Strong understanding of machining, metal fabrication, or related manufacturing processes
• * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• * Experience with ERP systems and cost tracking
• * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• * Effective communication skills with both internal teams and customers

Education & Experience

• * Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred, not required
• * 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Estimating, or Account Management in a manufacturing environment
• * Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
