Job Summary (General Purpose of the Job) The Senior Director, IT Digital Innovation focuses on digital transformations and enablement of innovative digital products and services. The Senior Director establishes an integrated organizational, business, product experience, and technology footprint, maximizing innovative streamlining of business, products and services definition, design and delivery. The position leads all aspects of targeted business area technology including strategy development, solution identification & implementation, ongoing operational support, risk management, and relationship management. The Senior Director proactively shares knowledge of technology risks and promotes opportunities to build competitive advantage by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business units through IT services and capabilities. Essential Functions of the Job (Key Duties and Responsibilities)
- Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes.
- Collaborate with other business and IT teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
- Define, measure, and report appropriate metrics related to project outcomes.
- Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet internal and external customer needs.
- Oversee the launch of solutions and maximize the positive impact on the organization.
- Create consensus with other functions as to the timing of solution introductions and withdrawals.
- Possess broad knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources.
- Perform technical/business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
- Manage assigned resources appropriately so that project timelines and defined support objectives are met.
- Establish governance measures to ensure secure and consistent systems implementation and operations.
- Work with IT leadership in the efficient and cost-effective delivery of strategic systems solutions.
- Coordinate activities with the other IT teams as needed to provide seamless service to all business areas. Act as the key liaison across all functional areas including business units, IT, and outside vendors.
- Plan and direct the design, development, maintenance and support of systems implementations, upgrades, and ongoing technology operations.
- Responsible for Digital, Data, & Analytics including innovation, strategy, and project delivery.
- Drive new digital customer experiences, data, and analytics driven insights.
- Create, implement, revise, and execute upon a Digital, Data, and Analytics technology roadmap that is fully aligned with business and IT strategy.
- Collaborate with other IT business partners to ensure the optimal portfolio of applications exists to support the business.
- Deliver value at optimal cost while ensuring that Incyte is looking far enough into the future to guide the business.
- Maintain awareness of emerging digital trends and evaluate how to best implement and leverage new technologies.
- Participate in field research in pursuit of new solutions and to evaluate the applicability of and effectiveness of current solutions.
- Provide recommendations on desired policies and goals; implement new/reviewed programs according to established guidelines.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to a variety of business and technical audiences.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- History of delivering business impact through digital projects, analytics and innovation, and organizational transformation.
- Setting strategic direction and leading ongoing organizational transformation.
- Proven ability to perform strategic thinking and planning.
- Strong understanding of assigned business unit to include their business drivers for success, processes, and approaches to business models.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or relevant life sciences environments.
- 10 to 15 years of IT and business / industry work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
