Project Engineer 2 for IMEG Consultants Corp will report to our San Francisco, CA regional loc but may telecommute from within CA after 3 months of in-office employment. Presence required in the San Francisco, CA office at least 1-2 days per month. Conduct structural gravity & lateral (seismic & wind) analysis & design using ETABS, SAP 2000, & RISA software. Coordinate/communicate with architects, MEP engineers, & other consultants. Develop structural calculations, design narratives, & technical specs. Prep & review construction drawings & details in Revit & AutoCAD. Respond to RFIs during construction. Attend coordination meetings with clients, building owners, & consultant teams. Lead design team meetings to review project progress & technical approaches. Perform quality control reviews of drawing sets & calculation packages. Mentor junior team members: assign tasks aligned with skill development; provide technical feedback & markup on all calcs/drawings they produce; teach proper application of building codes & structural design principles; conduct regular 1-1 meetings to discuss technical growth; review work product prior to submission to clients or incorporation into project deliverables. Coordinate structural design with architectural & MEP systems. Develop project development schedules & monitor milestone completion. Prep & submit structural drawings & calcs for permit application packages to building departments. Review & respond to plan check comments from jurisdictions. Conduct site visits to observe construction progress & address field conditions. Participate in internal technical review meetings. Contribute to proposals & business development efforts. Lead commercial building projects simultaneously from schematic design through construction admin. Attend conferences/participate in technical presentations & engage in business development. Regularly required to lift objects up to 25 lbs. Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach w/ hands or arms, & grasp or pull. May have limited exposure to outside weather conditions & loud noises. Little local travel may be involved to job/client sites. May involve travel to IMEG's San Francisco, CA office 1-2 times per month. Travel not to exceed 60 days/yr w/ occasional overnight stays. Wage: $155,667 - $160,000. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Must have Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Architectural) or related field; 5 years relevant exp in the building design consulting industry; and required skills. Requires skills (5 years exp) in: design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in production of technical plans and specifications; applying principles in mechanics and materials, load paths, design techniques, design standards (including steel, concrete, wood, masonry) and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structures; BIM; MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
