Compensation:

* On-Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000+ annually, including uncapped monthly departmental commission

* Base Salary: $70,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience (DOE)

Interstate Power Systems' Lakeville, MN location is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead operations at our state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot facility. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving service department performance, growing the business, and delivering exceptional customer experience.

Position Summary

The Service Manager is a critical member of the management team and is fully accountable for the performance of the shop and service operations. This role oversees people, processes, financial performance, and customer satisfaction while promoting Interstate Power Systems' products and services. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, heavy-duty diesel knowledge, and a passion for operational excellence.

Job Duties



  • Take all necessary steps to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and retain top-quality service personnel
  • Actively support and participate in company sales efforts
  • Monitor service department performance using key metrics, including revenue, profitability, efficiency, and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with safety goals, policies, and procedures
  • Accurately quote service work and oversee pricing consistency
  • Manage the work order process and service invoicing
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and branch goals to employees
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Uphold Interstate Power Systems' promise of "Pride in Service"



Desired Skills & Qualifications



  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of heavy-duty diesel equipment, components, and repair processes
  • Proven knowledge of customer service, sales, and marketing principles
  • Solid understanding of profit and loss statements and financial management
  • Self-starter with the ability to recognize strengths and develop strategic business plans
  • Experience with Lean / 5S principles
  • Prior experience as a Service Manager or Service Supervisor preferred



Requirements



  • Experience and technical knowledge in the heavy-duty diesel truck and/or equipment industry is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage employees, workflows, and processes
  • Leadership experience within a service, diesel, or equipment environment
