These are the qualifications that matter.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience preparing HVAC estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Background working on design-build projects and integrated project delivery environments is preferred.
• Solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems, construction methods, and applicable codes.
• Experience using HVAC estimating software along with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope documentation.
• Familiarity with CAD and Revit platforms is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills for engaging with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Examine project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare precise HVAC cost projections.
• Complete detailed quantity take-offs and calculate labor, material, and equipment requirements.
• Review and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.
• Interpret construction documents to define project scope and identify potential risks or discrepancies.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to confirm that estimates align with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
• Apply current local and national HVAC codes and standards to ensure all estimates meet compliance requirements.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and conduct site visits as necessary to evaluate conditions and collect project information.
• Deliver thorough, well-documented HVAC estimates covering labor, materials, and equipment in a timely manner.
