Vehicle Safety Test Engineer Location: Newark, CA (Onsite with nationwide travel) Pay: $28-$32/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (OT potential) Duration: 12+ month contract (extension possible) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Safety Test Engineer to support vehicle crash testing, safety validation, and test execution. This role is hands-on and dynamic, working with cross-functional teams to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and execute vehicle crash and safety tests Operate and maintain test equipment and instrumentation Support engineers with test preparation, execution, and data collection Perform vehicle teardown, rebuilds, and modifications for testing Work with high-voltage systems safely and effectively Document test results and ensure quality and accuracy of data Collaborate with engineering teams to meet project timelines and safety requirements Travel to test sites across the U.S. as needed Qualifications 5+ years of experience in vehicle safety testing and crash testing 5+ years of experience working with high-voltage systems 5+ years of experience with vehicle teardown and rebuilds Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on technical training Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical skills Ability to work onsite in Newark, CA (required) Additional Details Primarily onsite with occasional nationwide travel Work on cutting-edge EV safety and crash programs Performance measured by quality, accuracy, and meeting deadlines Interview process includes two rounds and technical assessment This is a unique opportunity to work on advanced vehicle programs in a fast-paced, hands-on testing environment.
