Facilities Engineer II, Projects - JLL

What this job involves - As an experienced Facilities Engineer II, you will play a crucial role with the planning, execution, and oversite of single trade capital projects generated from the IFM capital and client small projects list. You will handle the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and budget. You will report directly to the Manager of Engineering and Construction Services.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Execute all approved single trade or small scope capital projects involving Commercial HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Compressed Air, Emergency Backup Power, Fire Life Safety and general building construction

  • Guide the client and team through the design implementation process including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documentation and signoff.

  • Maintain Project Schedules and manage the successful execution of projects so that completion falls within intended timeframes.

  • Prepare various RFP's needed for vendor and contractor services as well as manage the contractor, vendor selection and bid/award process.

  • Manage project performance against schedules, schedule milestones and critical path items on multiple projects.

  • Manage vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, all regulating entities and client expectations.

  • Identify, manage and mitigate areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk (fee, our reputation, errors and omissions, etc.).

  • Contribute where needed and/or requested in the refinement of best practices of excellence for the business unit and JLL overall.

  • Ensure all project development, commissioning, warranty and other documents are properly stored digitally within share point files

  • Complete closeout with appropriate team to include contract modification and work order setup for reoccurring maintenance and commissioning is completed

  • Periodically perform technical review of initial drawings/ page turn with the PDS team on large projects ensuring all FLS/MEP systems are correct, meet code and compliance requirements and will be fully operational minimizing day 2 items.

  • Periodically assist PDS team with job walks reviewing installation techniques and identifying any potential problems

  • Manage the IFM 5-10-year capital list, performing reviews of submissions with the team to ensure completeness and accuracy.

  • Participate in the selection, review and quarterly business review of General and sub-contractors as requested.

  • Any/all other duties as assigned by the manager; engineering and construction services

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in HVAC or Electrical

  • 7+ years of experience in construction management or project engineering

  • Strong data management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedules

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently

  • Ability to read drawings, schematics and blueprints

  • Knowledge of building /safety codes to include NFPA, IBC, IMC, OSHA, NEC

  • Experience with hazardous location, ESD construction techniques

  • Experience with computer-controlled building automation systems

  • Knowledge of thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Familiar with work order systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience within a chemical, pharmaceutical or hospital environment

  • PMP certification, HVAC license, Electrical or Master Gas license

  • Universal Technician Certification for CFCs (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

  • Experience using Corrigo CMMS
