Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Data Specialist, Data Management & Analytics to be primarily responsible for day-to-day data management activities related to the firm systems that the Data Management & Analytics team assists with.

Reporting to the Manager, Data Management & Analytics, the Data Specialist, Data Management & Analytics will work with the team, as well as with other firm departments, to apply data governance standards to unstructured data, assist with technical documentation, support the collection and delivery of matter experience data through data extraction, transformation and auditing and provide guidance on data field configuration for the team's managed applications.

This position will reside in the Philadelphia office and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviews, coordinates and loads collected matter experience data to add to the firm's experience management database.

  • Supports the development of guidance on data field configuration according to the firm's data governance standards and facilitates testing and implementation of data fields within the firm's systems.

  • Manages technical support issues for managed systems and maintains logs related to technical issues, data integration, configuration, etc.

  • Works with the team to catalog key data elements, their definitions and other relevant factors.

  • Facilitates regular data audits across firm systems to identify data quality issues.

  • Participates in data hygiene projects designed to improve the accuracy and consistency of firm data for efficient use supporting client engagements and opportunities.

  • Assists the team with documentation and the development of project specific materials, training materials and other documents.

Experience and preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, ideally in computer science or information systems management, and minimum of two (2) years of professional experience

  • Experience with the Foundation Experience Management Database or Qlik/Tableau/Power BI a plus
