Summary
Responsible for overseeing the completion, accuracy, and timely submission of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, supports accurate reimbursement, and contributes to high-quality resident care. In addition, this position focuses on monitoring, tracking, and reporting on MassHealth-covered patients to support program compliance and financial accuracy.

Essential Functions
-Oversee and coordinate the full MDS assessment process for all residents, ensuring timely and accurate completion in accordance with CMS regulations.
-Review MDS assessments for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
-Maintain strong working knowledge of current MDS and PDPM requirements and CMS updates.
-Maintain internal tracking systems to ensure MassHealth residents are flagged appropriately for assessment and reimbursement-related workflows.
-Collaborate with Finance, Admissions, and Case Management to ensure MassHealth eligibility, changes in status, and documentation needs are up-to-date.
-Conduct internal audits of MDS documentation to ensure accuracy, identify errors, and facilitate corrective action.
-Provide routine reports on MassHealth resident census, trends, and any identified risks related to documentation or reimbursement.
-Stay informed on all relevant MassHealth long-term care requirements, policy updates, and payer-specific documentation standards.

Education
Associate's Degree Nursing required and Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required

Experience
Experience in MDS coordination or a related role, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of MDS, PDPM, and related regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
