Overview
The Operational Security (OPSEC) Senior Investigator is responsible for investigating threats, analyzing vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and implementing OPSEC counter measures. The Senior Investigator coordinates information gathering with internal departments, open sources and applicable law enforcement and intelligence authorities, conducts timely investigations, analyzes and documents results, maintains case management and evidence in accordance with legal requirements, and completes other duties as assigned. This position requires an experienced professional with broad experience in intelligence, criminal investigations, and counterintelligence matters. This position reports to the Manager of OPSEC and Security Investigations. OPSEC / Security Investigator Responsibilities include:
Maximize partnerships with internal and external management staff that include Engineering, Logistics, Legal, Risk Management, and Government agencies
- Conduct OPSEC assessments to ensure enough protection measures are in place to protect information.
- Conduct analysis to identify the potential of any OPSEC indicators or vulnerabilities that might reveal information.
- Compare indicators and vulnerabilities to the adversary's intelligence collection capabilities identified in the threat analysis.
- Design, develop, and recommend operational policies, procedures and best practices for the company.
- Conduct on-site and off-site risk assessments identifying and analyzing vulnerabilities to identify countermeasures, estimating the operational impact of each potential countermeasure and their relative benefits compared to the impact of the adversary exploiting vulnerability.
- Work with a team of embedded security professionals at off-site facilities and focus factories where product is regularly moved and/or stored / manufactured or developed
- Recommend specific countermeasures that will effectively protect Electric Boat's critical information.
- Facilitates OPSEC Awareness Education briefings to large groups of EB employees working with targeted technologies
- Supports the synchronization of efforts, internally and externally, by attending regular meetings and collaboration with EB stakeholders, customers and federal partners.
- Collaborates in and represents the OPSEC program as directed in various internal working groups.
- Works closely with the intelligence community and inter-agency partners to develop and maintain a working knowledge of our global adversaries and their capabilities to proactively mitigate emerging threats and identify potential vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 7+ years of experience in the investigative, cyber security or intelligence analysis field, -OR- 10+ plus years of general experience in law enforcement, industrial security, military intelligence or federal investigation
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Ability to travel within the continental United States and Hawaii as needed with little notice to accomplish assignment responsibilities
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision
- Ability to work at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI as needed
- Ability to legally and physically operate company vehicles and use Company issued equipment as required for the performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in OPSEC
- Experience with Threat Analysis
- Experience conducting Insider Threat investigations
- Experience in Counterintelligence
- Experience in Cyber Security
- Working knowledge of defense industry security protocols and procedures
- Working knowledge of the National Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
