Seasonal Maintenance (Temporary)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Seasonal Maintenance Support position assists the Maintenance and Facilities team with outdoor grounds maintenance, operation of landscaping equipment, and general facility upkeep across the mill property. This role helps ensure the grounds, buildings, and equipment remain safe, functional, and well-maintained while supporting daily maintenance operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Operate outdoor grounds keeping equipment including lawn mowers, tractors, weed trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools
• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, weed control, debris removal, and general landscape upkeep
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining irrigation and sprinkler systems
• Facility Support & Maintenance
• Assist with general building and facility maintenance tasks as assigned
• Perform painting and minor facility repairs
• Maintain outdoor equipment in safe working condition and report any maintenance issues
• Maintain clean, organized work areas across the mill property
• Systems Support
• Assist with operation and monitoring of the wastewater treatment system, including basic testing and recordkeeping as directed
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures when operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to safely operate outdoor equipment such as lawn mowers, tractors, weed trimmers, and landscaping tools
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with routine equipment maintenance
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This role requires working both outdoors on the mill grounds and indoors within the production facility. Employees must follow all safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to:

• Hearing protection
• Safety shoes
• Eye protection when required
• Ability to operate equipment for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the mill grounds for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work from ladders, lifts, or elevated areas when necessary
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move items up to 30 pounds
