Title: Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager
Salary Range: $140,000 - $142,000 per year

GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) functions for the assigned salad manufacturing facility. This role may provide support for FSQA teams at external cooler facilities, depending on location.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager (Bud Antle, LLC (fka Bud Antle, Inc.); Bessemer City, North Carolina): Ensure compliance with Federal (Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)), State, and local regulations. Manage customer and consumer food safety and quality complaints including investigations, data analysis/trending, and responding to complaints. Ensure all Company manufacturing facilities follow Company quality and food safety requirements. Maintain the food safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans for the facility. Identify areas of microbial risk and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Provide internal and external quality and food safety training. Manage, implement, maintain quality and food safety related policies. Act as liaison with federal and state agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory issues. Ensure customer requests related to quality and food safety are completed appropriately and timely. Prepare and manage department budgets. Follow all food safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as applicable. Evaluate and recommend new processes that will increase efficiency for the business. Ensure the FSQA department follows compliance with third party auditing schemes. Leverage internal and external data to drive continuous improvement. Serve as a resource for equipment commissioning and decommissioning activities. Supervise and train salaried and hourly employees within the FSQA departments. Travel to any of Company value-added manufacturing facilities, as needed - up to 30% domestic travel required.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Must have experience with the following: produce and high-risk food safety quality assurance; manufacturing in food safety quality assurance; regulatory requirements: FSMA, HACCP, microbial hazards, hygienic design, third party auditing entities, sanitation procedures and plant operations; and supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs and lift up to 25 pounds.
Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles
Ability to occasionally work in a cold environment (35oF on plant floor)
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to any of company value-added manufacturing facilities, as needed - up to 30% domestic travel required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Agriculture, or related field.
Experience Requirements: Two (2) years of experience as a Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager or related occupation.
