Job Description

TheSenior Director, Project Servicesis a leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational oversight ofProjectServicesorganization. This role owns theProject Management discipline end-to-end, including people leadership, delivery standards, performance management, and capability development for all Project Managers.

Reporting intothe VP, Delivery Excellence & Operations,the Senior Director leadsmultipleDirectors of Project Services, each responsible for a definedteam of Project Managers. Through these leaders, the Senior Director ensures consistent, high-quality project delivery outcomes, strong customer satisfaction, and a scalable, sustainable Project Management practice.

This role plays a critical part in advancing delivery excellence by driving consistency inmethodologyand execution, developing Project Managementtalent, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and client-centric delivery.

Key Responsibilities

People & Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for theProject Managementteam, with accountability for performance, engagement, development, and retention.

  • Lead, coach, and empowertheDirectors of Project Services, ensuring strong people leadership, clear accountability, and consistent management practices across all Project Managers.

  • Ensure effectivecareer development planning, performance management, succession planning, and role clarity for Project Managers at all levels.

  • Partner with Human Resources to support effective hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action whererequired.

  • ChampionHitachi Core Valuesto buildahigh-performing Project Services organization.

  • Own and oversee themid-year and annual performance management processfor Project Services.

Delivery Excellence & Governance

  • Establish andmaintainproject management standardsandbest practicesto ensure predictable, high-quality delivery outcomes.

  • Ensure consistent application of delivery methodologies, controls, and reporting across the project portfolio.

  • Drive a strongcustomer-first mindsetacross the PM community through coaching, mentoring, and feedback via the Directors.

  • Providesenioroversight and escalation support forat-risk or complex projects, ensuringtimelyintervention and recovery.

  • Work closely with theGovernanceteam to ensure compliance within the defined parameters and drivetimelyexecution for action required bythe Project Services team.

  • Partner closely withDelivery Go-to-Market,the Domain,and Salesto align Project Services with broader delivery and businessobjectives.

Workforce Planning & Resourcing

  • Partner with theAmericasResourcing Groupto support centralized staffing,utilizationmanagement, and capacity planning for Project Managers.

  • Collaborate withGDCGlobal Development Centreand regional leaders tooptimizestaffing models and ensure the right PM capabilities are aligned to project demand.

  • Ensureappropriate workforceplanning to balanceutilization, employee well-being, and delivery quality.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Trackkey metricsfor Project Services, includingutilization, projecthealthanddelivery performance.

  • HoldTeamaccountable fordriving action on key metrics,PMperformance,upskilling, certifications, and development goals.

  • OwnProject Services performance reporting, including regular Rhythm of the Business (ROB) reporting.

  • Use data-driven insights toidentifytrends, risks, and improvement opportunities across the project portfolio.

Strategic Contribution

  • Lead and contribute toinitiativesthat advance delivery excellence, operational maturity, and scalability of the Project Services function.

  • Act as a thought leader for Project Management within the organization, continuously improving tools, processes, and ways of working.

  • Support organizational change initiatives related to delivery transformation, growth, and innovation.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience building, scaling, and leading aProject Management functionwithin a professional services or technology delivery environment.

  • 10+ years of experiencein project delivery and people leadership, withdemonstratedsuccess leading large teams and multiple people managers.

  • PMPcertificationrequired

  • Candidates withPROSCIcertification (or equivalent)preferred

  • Strong leadership capability with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior and executive levels.

  • Deep understanding ofproject delivery governance, performance management, and portfolio-level oversight.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with experience defining, tracking, and acting on delivery andutilizationmetrics.

  • Customer-centric mindset witha track recordof driving consistent, high-quality delivery outcomes.

  • Strong technical skills with Project Management Tooling (Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools)

Additional Information

Base Salary Pay Range*:

$190,000 - $259,000 USD

$180,000 - $247,000 CAD

*The current applicable Base Salary Pay Range for this role is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills relevant to the role, internal equity, alignment with market data, or other law.
