We are currently seeking an experiencedSenior or Staff Application Engineerto join our team. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, andoptimizingcontrol systems for gas turbinesused in industrial applications. In this role, you will focus on the development and integration ofmedium to high-complexity control systemsfor aeroderivative gas turbines. You will lead projects, collaborate across departments, and ensure that designs meetindustry standards, project requirements, and safety protocols. You will also support production troubleshooting, mentor junior engineers, and explore emerging technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

Senior Application Engineer

  • Estimated annual base pay: $93,000 (minimum) - $121,000 (midpoint) - $149,000 (maximum)

Staff Application Engineer

  • Estimated annual base pay: $113,000 (minimum) - $147,000 (midpoint) - $181,000 (maximum)

Key Responsibilities:

Control System Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and implementcontrol systems for gas turbine fuel delivery, emissions management, and auxiliary systems.
  • Leverage advanced tools likePLC programming, HMI/SCADA, andmotion controllersto create robust control solutions.
  • Ensure compliance withindustry standards(e.g., IEC, ISA) andsafety protocolsduring system design and implementation.
  • Integrate industrial automation andcommunication protocols(e.g., Modbus,EGD,OPC) tooptimizeturbine performance.
  • Ensure reliable operation throughsystem integrationand optimization ofautomation technologies.

Production Support & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolvemoderatelytohighlycomplexcontrol system issues, including turbine performance challenges and network communication errors.
  • Conductdata analysistoidentifyroot causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure reliable operation throughsystem integrationand optimization ofautomation technologies.Technical Documentation
  • Create and refine detailedsystem documentation.
  • Ensure documentation aligns withbest practicesand compliance requirements.

Mentorship

  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance onproject execution, problem-solving approaches, and technical skills development.
  • Offer constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement and professional growth.Key Skills &Expertise
  • Gas Turbine Control Systems:Advanced knowledge of control system design for aeroderivative gas turbines, including fuel delivery, emissions controls, and auxiliary systems.
  • Programming & Automation Tools:Proficiencyin tools such asPLC programmingandHMI/SCADA.
  • Communication Protocols & Networking:Expertisein configuring industrial networks, including switches, VLANs, and communication protocols likeModbus,EGDandOPC.
  • Data Analysis & Process Optimization:Strong analytical skills to evaluate system data,identifytrends, and implement process improvements forproductivity, cycle time, andutilizationgains.
  • Mechatronics Knowledge:Advanced understanding of the integration between mechanical systems, electrical components, and control logic in turbine applications.
  • Standards Compliance:Knowledge of international standards (e.g., IEC, ISO) and ability to apply them effectively in turbine projects.

Additional Qualifications: Senior Application Engineer

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineeringor related field.
  • Experience:4+ years of experience in gas turbine control systems or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity withGas Turbine controls and operations.
  • Experience inPowerGenerationor Oil and Gasapplications.
  • Network management and cybersecurity knowledge.

Additional Qualifications: Staff Application Engineer

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineeringor related field.
  • Experience:8+ years of experience in gas turbine control systems or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced technicalexpertiseingas turbines and control systems.
  • Proven ability towork oncomplex engineering initiatives.
  • Strategic planning and risk management capabilities.
