Department Information
The Student Organization Finance Office (SOFO) provides financial support to ensure the success of Georgia Tech's student-led organizations. SOFO serves as the student groups on-campus bookkeeper by effectively managing collected dues, fundraising, and expenditures as well as travel planning, expenses, and reimbursements. We support these student organizations by assisting them with their financial management needs.

Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, analysis and reconciliation of financial transactions; examination, investigation, audit and review of records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and efficient and effective operations; This role is critical in developing and implementing procedures to ensure uniform accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Institute policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience; advanced certification may be preferred or required (some profiles may require additional education).
  • Four or more years of relevant job experience.
  • The position requires a purchasing card (P-card)

Salary range: $48,000.00 to $64,000.00 commensurate with experience

Location: Atlanta, GA

  • Conduct financial analysis of projects and prepares special reports
