DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee total resident care and supervise nursing staff within assigned units. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all health care activities, treatments, and medication administrations comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and facility accreditation requirements. You will provide leadership and guidance to nurses across all shifts, directing staff to utilize their time and skills effectively to meet clinical goals. In this role, you will plan and evaluate the delivery of health services to maintain high standards for quality of life and care. You will be responsible for monitoring resident conditions and ensuring any health changes are promptly reported to the appropriate medical personnel. Additionally, you will maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records and manage the procurement of medical equipment and supplies necessary to support the ongoing needs of the residents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (80 hours biweekly)
  • Work hours are six 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) and one 8-hour shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM), working every other weekend. Training will be conducted on day shift.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
  • This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
