The Opportunity

Weston is seeking an experienced EHS Consultant with an Industrial Hygiene focus to support a growing portfolio of clients throughout the Bay Area.

This role is ideal for an EHS professional who enjoys a balance of fieldwork, industrial hygiene assessments, client consulting, and technical problem-solving. You will work directly with clients across a variety of industries, including biotechnology, healthcare, laboratories, technology, manufacturing, and commercial facilities, helping them identify workplace hazards, strengthen EHS programs, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Unlike many corporate EHS positions, this role offers exposure to a wide range of clients, projects, and work environments, providing opportunities to continually expand your technical expertise and consulting skills.

What You'll Do

Industrial Hygiene & Exposure Assessments

  • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and exposure monitoring for chemical, physical, and ergonomic hazards.
  • Develop and implement sampling plans for workplace exposure assessments.
  • Perform air monitoring, noise assessments, and other industrial hygiene evaluations.
  • Evaluate workplace conditions and recommend practical solutions to reduce employee health and safety risks.
  • Analyze sampling results, field, and compliance data and prepare technical reports and recommendations

Environmental Health & Safety Consulting

  • Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs, procedures, and management systems.
  • Conduct facility inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments.
  • Provide regulatory guidance related to OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local requirements.
  • Support clients with incident prevention, hazard mitigation, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, and related programs.

Training & Client Partnerships

  • Deliver EHS training on a variety of occupational health and safety topics.
  • Partner with client personnel to implement EHS initiatives and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing onsite EHS support and technical guidance.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive service and practical problem-solving.

Project Support

  • Coordinate project logistics and communicate project status with clients and internal teams.
  • Support project managers while developing project management and consulting skills.
  • Support proposal development and project documentation.

Team Development

  • Mentor junior staff and support their professional growth.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on quality, safety, and client success.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of Environmental Health & Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene experience.
  • Experience conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance evaluations.
  • Strong technical writing, data analysis, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently at client facilities and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the Bay Area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting experience supporting multiple clients or projects.
  • Industrial hygiene sampling and exposure assessment experience.
  • Experience supporting biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, laboratory, manufacturing, or technology environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and California regulatory requirements.

Professional Certifications

Weston supports employees pursuing professional certifications and encourages candidates working toward credentials such as:

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Associate Ergonomics Professional (AEP)
  • Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE)

Work Environment & Travel

  • Work will be performed at client facilities, Weston offices, and remote locations depending on project needs.
  • Regular local travel throughout the Bay Area is expected.
  • Projects may involve healthcare facilities, laboratories, biotechnology environments, manufacturing sites, technology campuses, and other commercial facilities.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • Occasional work in physically demanding or hazardous environments may be necessary.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position for candidates located within 50 miles of the California Bay Area is $90,000-$120,000 Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions, in accordance with California law.

Salary Range: $57,189 - $75,171 - $93,049
