Electrical Engineer Production Hardware is needed for a contract to hire opportunity onsite with SOC's client in Tucson, AZ



Clearance Needed: Interim Secret, Secret or Top Secret clearance.



Contract Duration: 12 months contract to hire



3 different shifts:

  • Shift 1 - 7am to 4pm
  • Shift 2 - 3pm to 12am
  • Shift 3 - 11pm to 8am



Job Description:

This role supports production and engineering operations by diagnosing complex electronic system issues, driving root cause resolution, and ensuring timely corrective actions across hardware, manufacturing, and supplier-related problems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly analytical, and comfortable working across cross-functional engineering and operations teams.



Core Responsibilities

  • Rapidly assess technical issues and identify probable root causes
  • Determine what additional data, testing, or analysis is required for resolution
  • Evaluate available resources and select optimal troubleshooting paths
  • Prioritize multiple concurrent production and system-level failures
  • Develop and execute troubleshooting, corrective action, and resolution plans
  • Communicate clear technical updates and action plans to cross-functional teams
  • Drive issue resolution through closure with consistent status tracking
  • Resolve production, factory, and supplier-related technical issues
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of production hardware and systems
  • Maintain technical data packages and generate Engineering Change documentation in cPDM
  • Present change packages in Review Board and Change Board forums
  • Coordinate engineering and operations resources to resolve issues efficiently
  • Participate in peer reviews with Engineering and Manufacturing teams
  • Perform electrical engineering support activities in a production environment



Hands-On Troubleshooting & Lab Work

  • Diagnose hardware failures using oscilloscopes
  • Perform digital debugging using logic analyzers
  • Operate function generators and programmable power supplies
  • Utilize spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
  • Leverage additional electronic test equipment as needed
  • Troubleshoot digital, analog, RF, mixed-signal, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Analyze and debug complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs)



Process Improvement & Quality

  • Analyze defect trends and yield data to identify recurring issues
  • Drive corrective actions to improve product reliability and reduce failures
  • Support manufacturing efficiency and quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across engineering and production



Required Qualifications

  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, or debugging one or more of the following:
  • Digital systems
  • Analog systems
  • RF systems
  • Mixed-signal systems
  • Complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
  • Electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
  • Background supporting manufacturing or test of electronic assemblies
  • Strong proficiency with electronic lab and test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret:

    • Schematics
    • PCB layouts
    • Bills of Materials (BOMs)

  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance required



Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior production support engineering experience
  • Experience with electrical design of:
  • Circuit card assemblies (CCA)
  • Electro-optical (EO) systems
  • RF systems
  • Seeker or sensor systems
  • Electronic subsystems
  • Experience with circuit design, assembly processes, and electrical test development
  • Supplier and sub-tier supplier technical support experience
  • Test equipment support and test automation scripting
  • Experience with sensor control, PCB fabrication, and manufacturing specifications
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as:

    • Mentor Graphics
    • PSpice
    • SystemVision
    • MATLAB / Mathcad
    • IDL
    • CST
    • Microwave Design Studio
    • HFSS
    • ADS

  • Experience with subsystem integration and testing
  • Post-test or flight analysis experience
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • Experience developing and implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
  • Ability to work independently and within small technical teams
  • Experience supporting:

    • Technical oversight and direction
    • Cost estimation and reporting
    • Detailed technical documentation
    • Proposal development support




Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Education Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
