| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The mission of the College of Education is to prepare and develop professionals in vocational teacher education and information/office education through effective teaching, the dissemination of knowledge, generation and application of research, and service to the educational business communities. The College is committed to the purpose of preparing educational and business professionals who are both academically and technically proficient. The teacher education programs share the additional purposes of preparing professional educators who are reflective in practice, committed to the intellectual empowerment of others, and guided by the larger democratic purposes of American education. |
| Job Duties |
INTERNAL POSTING: Open only to applicants currently employed by East Carolina University in the College of Education.
Mentorship Development and Oversight
* Develop and oversee mentorship structures for R2M Fellows.
* Establish mentor expectations, communication protocols, documentation processes, and feedback mechanisms.
* Monitor mentor-Fellow relationships and coordinate mentor training (modules and/or synchronous sessions).
Program Coordination and Candidate Development
* Develop and refine program structures, timelines, policies, and procedures.
* Coordinate mentorship activities, professional development seminars, leadership institutes, and study-away experiences.
* Plan and facilitate monthly professional development seminars aligned with Fellows' developmental stages.
* Ensure appropriate sequencing of program activities to support candidate engagement and
minimize overload.
* Lead and support orientation for two cohorts of R2M fellows.
Program Monitoring and Collaboration
* Collect and analyze feedback from Fellows, mentors, principals, faculty, and partners to
inform continuous improvement.
* Work with the project leadership team to support program implementation and ensure grant
outcomes are met.
* Collaborate with the Office of Alternative Licensure to support recruitment, retention, and
candidate success within the residency pathway.
Contingent upon availability of funding.The selected candidate will retain their faculty status and receive an administrative stipend. |
| Minimum Education/Experience |
* Full-time faculty member in the East Carolina University College of Education.
* Experience working with and supporting candidates in the Residency preparation pathway.
* Experience providing coaching, mentorship, or candidate support in educator preparationcontexts and K-12 settings. |

| Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
* Experience developing or facilitating mentorship or leadership development initiatives.
* Experience collaborating with school partners and institutional offices to support candidate success and retention.
* Experience with program evaluation, assessment, or continuous improvement processes.
* Knowledge of educator preparation program requirements, including familiarity with residency program structures and licensure expectations.
* Demonstrated organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. |
