Posting Summary
The candidate will serve as the lead architect in the creation of sophisticated, data-driven instructional units that translate New Jersey's complex regional weather and climate patterns into accessible middle and high school curricula. By integrating localized datasets, she will develop comprehensive units that explore the state's hydrological landscape, specifically focusing on the critical environmental and socio-economic variables associated with drought cycles and flood mitigation. These materials will be rigorously aligned with Next Generation Science Standards ( NGSS), ensuring they provide immediate value to educators seeking high-quality, state-specific resources. To ensure pedagogical excellence, she will manage a full-cycle development process-moving from initial construction through active classroom piloting and evidence-based refinement. This iterative approach incorporates direct feedback from stakeholders to guarantee that the final products are both classroom-practical and student-centric. Ultimately, Dr. Holzer will oversee the digital dissemination of these resources via The Office of the New Jersey State Climatologist website, acting as a key advocate for New Jersey's climate literacy by providing schools statewide with open-access, professional-grade tools for environmental education.
