As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at Idaho National Laboratory, you'll provide comprehensive occupational health services to the workforce driving America's most critical nuclear research. From pre-placement exams to diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses, you'll contribute to policy development, establish physical capacity standards, and support return-to-work evaluations that keep Idaho National Laboratory operating safely and effectively.

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Physician Assistant/NP to work on our Environment, Safety, Health & Quality (ESH&Q) team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-placement, required medical certification/surveillance, wellness, and termination physical examinations for INL employees.
  • Diagnose and treat occupational illnesses and injuries for INL employees.
  • Perform medical, Fitness for Duty, and Return to Work evaluations for INL employees, placing work restrictions where appropriate.
  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of medical procedures, policies, and assessments.
  • Meet the continuing education requirements established by the respective licensing boards in the State of Idaho.
  • Take call rotation as directed by medical director.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Level 3: Masters Degree in an accredited program as a physician assistant or as a nurse practitioner and (2) years of related experience.

  • Level 4: Masters Degree in an accredited program as a physician assistant or as a nurse practitioner and (6) years of related experience
  • Idaho Board of Medicine Licensure, ACLS Certification; DEA Licensure (Drug Enforcement Agency), State of Idaho Pharmacy Registration, NCCPA (National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants), as applicable
  • Clinical experience sufficient to be able to make sound medical decisions required in the day-to-day clinical activities of an occupational medicine program.

Preferred Experience:

  • Clinical experience in occupational medicine

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office environment and in operational/research areas. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of office equipment. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required. Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($95,256 - $195,288 )/ Level 4 ($114,360 - $234,336). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
