Job Summary
F3EA is seeking a Transportation & Logistics Coordinator to support Blue Water Instrumentation (BWI) operations at the Point Mugu Sea Range. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the movement of equipment, materials, and personnel in support of R&D, prototyping, and test events. The position works in close coordination with the Field Logistics Coordinator to ensure that assets are positioned, transported, and delivered in alignment with mission timelines. The Transportation & Logistics Coordinator operates across the full logistics chain-ensuring that systems and equipment move efficiently from procurement and staging through delivery and recovery, without disruption to mission execution. This position is designed to ensure that movement of people, equipment, and materials is deliberate, synchronized, and reliable. The Transportation & Logistics Coordinator enables mission execution by ensuring that assets arrive where they are needed, when they are needed, without disruption.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate transportation of equipment, prototype systems, and materials between facilities, staging areas, and test locations
- Develop and manage movement schedules, ensuring alignment with test event timelines and operational requirements
- Coordinate use and management of company vehicles and transportation assets, including load planning and utilization
- Ensure proper packaging, handling, and transport of sensitive, technical, or controlled equipment
- Work closely with the Field Logistics Coordinator to ensure seamless handoff between transportation and field execution
- Coordinate shipping and receiving operations, including tracking inbound and outbound shipments
- Maintain visibility of logistics pipelines, identifying delays, risks, or bottlenecks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Support procurement logistics, including vendor coordination, delivery tracking, and receipt verification
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and controlled material handling requirements
- Assist with inventory tracking and accountability during movement of assets
- Maintain documentation related to shipping, transportation, and logistics operations
- Support vehicle fleet coordination, including scheduling, tracking, and basic oversight of maintenance requirements
- Provide status updates to program leadership on transportation timelines, risks, and execution progress
Supervisory Responsibilities
Required Qualifications and Education
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics coordination, or supply chain operations
- Experience coordinating movement of equipment, materials, or personnel
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities simultaneously
- Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking processes
- Familiarity with transportation planning, routing, and load coordination
- Ability to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment with changing priorities
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret or higher)
Preferred Qualifications and Education
- Experience supporting DoD programs, test ranges, or training environments
- Familiarity with property accountability systems (e.g., A2B or similar)
- Experience handling sensitive or controlled equipment, including compliance considerations
- Background in fleet management or vehicle coordination
- Experience supporting RDT&E or prototype-driven programs
- Knowledge of expeditionary or field logistics operations
- Prior military or defense contractor experience
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Combination of office, warehouse, and field coordination environments
- Regular interaction with logistics personnel, engineers, and program staff
- Hands-on involvement in movement and coordination of equipment
- Occasional travel may be required in support of test events
