We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Private Banking to join our Private Banking team. This role is located in Chicago, IL or Cleveland, OH. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Independently develop and implement the strategic plan for managing and growing client banking relationships with a focus on revenue growth and retention.
- Serve in a consultative role to clients, advising on the best way to achieve short- and long-term strategic objectives and acting as the client's advocate and escalation point for satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Line of Business colleagues to develop and broaden client relationships and contribute to the development of team/unit metrics, dashboards, and roadmaps.
- Prospect new clients in similar industries or segments, conduct service review meetings, and ensure client onboarding and risk management activities are conducted and captured.
- The incumbent will have specialized knowledge/proficiency in the most complex lending products/specialties. This position is intended for experienced private bankers with a proven track record of successful business production.
- Conduct frequent and regular check-ins with assigned clients, ensuring their continued satisfaction and strategic alignment with firm services/product offerings.
- Continually evaluate client needs and ensure sustained client engagement. Develop, track and report on relationship strategy/results for assigned client portfolio.
- Work with other relationship managers and/or marshal firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure client needs are being addressed and to proactively inform clients of industry developments or firm thought leadership. Ensures client onboarding and/or risk management activities are conducted and captured (KYC, BAC, etc.)
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required; advanced/graduate degree preferred.
- Successful completion of a formal credit training program or equivalent work experience required.
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience preferred, including financial services experience with a particular client type or banking product and understanding of credit policies and underwriting procedures.
- Prior experience in Relationship Management, Client Services, or Account Management required.
- Applicable local/regional licenses (e.g., Series 7 and 63 licenses) or certifications as required by the business achieved in the first 12 months employment.
BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $104,000 and $195,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
