Job Summary
Manage and lead inventory and supply planning process within established S&OP framework, while developing and executing production and/or purchase plans to ensure that supply plans meet inventory investment and customer service objectives. Will work closely with commercial, sourcing, manufacturing plants, and both domestic and overseas suppliers to manage capacity and ensure finished goods product is available to meet our customers' expectations, while driving continuous improvements. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategically manage production capacity along with domestic and overseas supplier's capacity partnering with onsite operations to adjust where necessary.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead a high-performing team, develop talent, and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Analyze multiple sources of data to develop feasible, master production plans for finished goods based on capacity requirements.
- Utilize and maintain advanced planning systems and optimization (SAP IBP, S4/PPDS) to achieve finished good supply plans that drive proper working capital management, manufacturing stability and customer service level targets of 95% or
- Monitor SKU level forecast consumption: taking corrective actions in supply plans to optimize inventory in accordance with trends.
- Own supply side analysis to Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for product lines supported.
- Create and maintain critical SAP master data elements to ensure accuracy in supply and production plans.
- Help manage slow moving and obsolete finished goods SKUs for proper disposition.
- Frequent cross functional interaction with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service to balance demand and supply.
- Work closely with manufacturing facilities to manage adherence to supply plans to ensure production is executed in accordance with established plans.
- Partner with the product development team to ensure new product launches are effective and timely.
- Contribute as a key team member at meetings and reviews, with key accountabilities for providing metrics, resolving issues, proposing alternate methods, identifying corrective actions, and presenting information.
- Recommend and implement strategies to improve supply planning processes as well as manage risks and opportunities for assigned projects
- Analyze department performance metrics to resolve issues and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely completion in a fluid environment.
- Must always understand and demonstrate safe work practices to ensure a safe work environment.
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business or related area
- 5+ years of related work experience in Supply Chain
Required Skills
- Strong Purchasing, Planning or Inventory Management background; APICS certification a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of MRP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods environment is preferred
- Strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong customer orientation.
- Proven aptitude for multitasking; ability to identify and manage a variety of high-priority tasks and provide resolution in a calm and effective manner.
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
