CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water Team in Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA. In this role, you will support water/wastewater infrastructure projects that help communities operate safely and sustainably. You will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to planning, design, and field efforts while building a strong foundation in water and wastewater infrastructure engineering.



What You'll Do:

    Assist in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, such as treatment facilities, pipelines, pumping systems, and stormwater solutions
  • Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for sustainable water and wastewater systems
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in assessment, planning, and rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure systems


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred
  • Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software, such as AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus

Salary Range:

$74,000 - $78,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
