Position Summary:
Cosette Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly driven and strategic Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across the branded pharmaceutical portfolio. This leader will identify, evaluate, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships, licensing, and acquisition opportunities to expand Cosette's presence in key therapeutic areas such as oncology, neurology, cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, and women's health. The role requires a deep understanding of the branded pharma landscape, scientific evaluation, deal-making, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Opportunity Assessment: Identify and prioritize branded in-licensing, co-development, M&A, and alliance opportunities aligned with Cosette's growth strategy.
  • Valuation and Modeling: Lead forecast development of U.S. and global branded product opportunities. Translate internal forecasts into discounted cash flow models and other valuation models as necessary with functionality including but not limited to scenario/sensitivity analysis, deal structuring, and risk-adjusted modeling.
  • Deal Execution: Manage end-to-end transaction processes including timeline management, coordination with external advisors, and oversight of diligence workflows and data rooms. Lead/support deal strategy, term sheet drafting, and contract negotiations. Drive due diligence efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, and Legal).
  • Portfolio Development: Evaluate therapeutic and market trends to guide portfolio strategy. Work with internal teams to integrate scientific and commercial insights into pipeline decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal executive stakeholders to align BD priorities and risk mitigation strategies. Prepare high-quality materials for Board of Directors meetings and external stakeholders, including investment summaries, transaction updates, and strategic analyses.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a resource and subject matter expert within the BD function. Mentor junior BD staff and support knowledge sharing across the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of executing branded pharmaceutical deals (preferably mid- to late-stage assets or commercial-stage products).
  • Deep understanding of branded product lifecycle: clinical development, regulatory approval, market access, and commercialization.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen including expertise in DCF, NPV, IRR, and P&L modeling.
  • Ability to develop and defend commercial forecasts supporting branded products.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic environment.
Education & Experience:
  • MBA and/or advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in branded business development or life sciences investment banking roles.
  • Experience with U.S. and global markets is highly preferred.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Bridgewater, NJ based position is $165,000 - $230,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee on the payment date.

Physical Requirements
This role will follow a hybrid work schedule, requiring three (3) onsite days per week at our Bridgewater, NJ office.
