Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES: As a Senior Software Developer, you will be part of a team of engineers working to deliver a comprehensive SecDevOps software solution for the US Navy that provides automated functional testing and cybersecurity analysis of software payloads. This is a relatively small team that moves fast, you will be supported and enabled to begin contributing as soon as you are ready. What you'll experience:
- Develop software in Ruby on Rails and Vue.js within a Linux/Kubernetes environment to deliver an efficient capability for performing cybersecurity assessments
- Building and supporting container environments (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Write code, test, integrate and document software solutions
- Analyze system, functional, and performance requirements and how they impact new or existing code
- Conduct software peer reviews for others on your team
- Perform software unit test, and supporting integration and test
- Shape future products by contributing to the architecture framework used across multiple products or systems
We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:
- 5+ years experience as Full Stack Developer
- Experience working with frameworks like Vue and Ruby on Rails
- If not, experience with similar frameworks like React and Java Spring may be applicable
- Hands-on experience building Single Page Applications and Model View Controller (MVC) Applications
- Experience using Linux (basic OS comprehension and basic shell scripting), preferably Red Hat or derivatives
- Collaboration in Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban) to deliver high-quality software
What you'll experience:

What You Bring to the Table:
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and lifecycle
- Experience with testing methods like TDD, BDD, and various types of software testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) (Vitest, RSpec, Playwright)
- Expertise in object-oriented design and development
- Familiarity with Linux, REST APIs, and database management (SQL, PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of automation tools (GitOps, CI/CD) and security practices (PKI, certificates)
- Ability to write clean, production-ready code following good coding practices
What sets you apart:
- Technical leadership experience
- 2+ years experience working with Azure or similar cloud platforms
- 2+ years experience working with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms
- Strong understanding of software development process, as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Hands-on experience with RobotFramework and Software Analysis Tools (SAST/DAST)
- Experience with Argo Workflows, OpenShift, Kubevirt

Workplace Options: This position is Hybrid/Flex. While on-site, you will be a part of the Manassas VA facility. Target salary range: USD $112,924.00/Yr. - USD $125,275.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
