Location: Position can be performed from any U.S. company office.

Position Description: Serve as legal partner to Turner enterprise service
groups, including Self-Perform Operations, xPL Offsite, First Equipment
Company, and other emerging business lines. Provide strategic legal guidance
across commercial transactions, contract negotiations, operational risk
management, claims and dispute resolution, and implementation of scalable legal
processes and standards.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with enterprise service leadership, prepare, review and negotiate complex commercial and construction-related agreements, including subcontract agreements, equipment rental agreements, manufacturing and fabrication agreements, supply agreements, services agreements, and related transactional documents.
  • Lead and execute all stages of the contract life cycle, including transaction structuring, risk allocation strategy, negotiation, drafting, execution, and post-award contract administration support.
  • Provide legal guidance to Self-Perform Operations on project-level issues, including change orders, claims development, performance disputes, and contractual risk mitigation.
  • Advise First Equipment Company leadership on development and implementation of rental agreements, master service agreements, credit documentation, and related operational processes for a growing equipment rental business.
  • Support xPL Offsite with manufacturing, fabrication, supply chain, and project integration agreements, and assist in development of standardized contracting and operational frameworks.
  • Manage and support resolution of contract disputes and contested matters, including coordination with outside counsel when necessary.
  • Advise on contract modifications, pricing adjustments, change orders, waivers/releases, and performance-related claims.
  • Develop and implement contracting standards, templates, and risk management policies tailored to enterprise service operations to promote consistency, scalability, and risk discipline.
  • Identify contractual noncompliance and operational risk exposure and elevate to leadership with recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Direct the management and resolution of contested matters.
  • Manage budgets for litigation matters (in collaboration with Risk Management Claims Director).
  • Review and record performance of counsel, consultants, mediators and arbitrators involved in dispute resolution matters.
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships across operations, finance, and risk management and provide coordination and oversight with outside counsel where appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of best practices related to commercial contracting, operational risk allocation, dispute avoidance, and documentation discipline.
  • Prepare and deliver legal training to enterprise service teams on contract strategy, claims awareness, documentation practices, and compliance topics.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Qualifications: JD degree with a valid law license. Minimum of 8 years' experience with an emphasis on commercial transactions,
    procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, construction-related transactions
    preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or
    experience. Demonstrated experience negotiating complex commercial agreements
    and advising business teams on risk allocation and transaction structuring
    required. Operates at an accelerated performance level with ability to
    prioritize many simultaneous complex and competing demands activities,
    requests, and short-cycle deadlines. Ability to work across functional lines
    and all levels within organization. True collaborator, maintain balanced view
    of business and effectively challenges senior management, providing candid,
    honest assessment. Supervisory/management of small team preferred. Proven written and verbal communication abilities with
    emphasis on problem solving and negotiation, with ability to explain complex legal concepts to employees
    and staff at all levels. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite, and various
    legal case management systems. Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex
    commercial contracts and related risk
    allocation provisions. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to
    work with staff at all levels, both internal and external. Ability to travel.
