| Title: Bender Department: Fabrication Reports To: Production Supervisor Classification: Non-Exempt Shift: 2nd Position Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of fabrication equipment to produce high-quality parts in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. This role plays a key part in meeting production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Safely set up, operate, and monitor fabrication equipment, including: Amada Turret Punch Press Trumpf 3040 Laser Wysong Shear Amada Press Brake Water Jet and Plasma Cutting systems Interpret work orders, part programs, and blueprints to ensure proper machine setup and tooling selection Perform complete machine setups, including program verification, tooling selection, and material matching Understand and apply proper die clearance and forming techniques Load and position various materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel Measure finished parts using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers; make setup adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy Accurately document production data on routing and inspection sheets Operate Forklifts and overhead cranes in accordance with safety guidelines Collaborate with team members to support workflow and production efficiency Identify and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations to the Department Lead, Production Supervisor, or Quality Control Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards at all times Minimum Education None Specific Qualifications Required Skills & Abilities Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong understanding of fractions, decimals, and basic shop math Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers Attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred Training in PPE, GHS, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO); onsite training available if needed Forklift and overhead crane certification preferred, onsite training available Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, grasping, and reaching overhead or outward Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds Job Locations US-SC-Rock Hill Company Overview IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services to a variety of end markets, including electrical, mechanical and communications contracting solutions for the commercial, industrial, residential and renewable energy markets.
