What to Expect Tesla's Factory Engineering organization is looking for a Gas and Chemical Process Design Engineer to join our Process Design team in Austin, TX. The process design team strives to create the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting-edgedetailed designs of chemical and utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. As a Gas and Chemical Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in the cutting-edge semiconductor facility design. What You'll Do System Design: Designcutting-edgegas, chemical, and slurry supply systems tailored tofabrequirements, ensuring safety and reliability Knowledge of chemical compatibility for materials forprocessfluids and gases; as well as materials of construction needed for chemical and gas systems to meet semiconductor high purity requirements Engineering Input: Analyze equipment specifications, engineering drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, BOMs, and other design-related documents tovalidateperformance, accuracy, and compliance Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IFC, IBC, NFPA, SEMI, ASME) Work to integrate reliability focus and risk analysis into Systems Engineering job scope, which includes FMEAs, root cause analysis, cause mapping, design, commissioning, and training Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with external stakeholders (contractors, vendors, AHJs, engineers of records) and internal teams (facility operations,fabconstruction/design, procurement) to ensure satisfaction and alignmentondesign requirements What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience Strong understanding of fluid control, supply, and distribution systems including piping, valves, PLCs, tanks, regulators, sensors, filters, piping connections, etc. Ability to read P&IDs, PFDs, andunderstandinggas/chemical supply systems, equipment operating principles, and fundamental operational skills Proficiencyin design and documentation tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Bluebeam, Revit,and AutoCAD Applicant is expected to be willing and able to work in a manufacturing facility or chemical processing facility environment Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
