Summary:

Intern Dates: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026

A meaningful educational experience for a college student to gain valuable experience in their field of study; while accomplishing tasks and completing projects in an enriching environment. The Intern will gain networking opportunities that include interactions with CHRISTUS leaders and Associates. The Intern will be provided with a variety of projects to support learning objectives in the Lean Transformation Office that will provide incredible learning opportunities, and experience in lean six sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities:


  • Works with and under the direction of Lean Transformation Industrial Engineers, and department leadership
  • Develops trusting and positive relationships with all customers, associates, leaders, executives, physicians, patients, vendors, and visitors
  • Acquires data and converts to information to draw conclusions for recommendations
  • Analyzes data and processes to perform gap analysis
  • Supports identifying root cause to drive corrective action across all departments of the organization
  • Supports improvement activity and action plans
  • Supports using Lean principles to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Supports Lean projects, workshops, Rapid Improvement Events (RIE), Kaizens, meetings and team discussions
  • Participates in other special projects and performs other job duties as assigned

Requirements:

Experience:


  • At least 2 years of college preparation towards major.

Education:


  • Currently enrolled in a college degree program in one of the following degree program; Industrial Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Health Systems Engineering from ABET accredited university. Masters of Health, Health Information Management, Master of Public Health, or comparable education from an ABET accredited university.
  • PC and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work with others.
  • Quick learner with attention to detail, high degree of confidentiality and solid organizational skills.
  • Needs to be resourceful, innovative and persuasive with ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.

8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday
