Summary: The Pharmacy Coordinator for Johnston Health Outpatient Pharmacy acts as the Pharmacist in Charge of outpatient pharmacy operations within Johnston Memorial Hospital. This position plays a key role in ensuring the seamless and efficient functioning of the pharmacy. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and collaborative individual with a strong background in retail pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include coordination pharmacy operations, managing inventory, providing patient care, and developing pharmacy talent. This position reports to the Clinical Manager of System Retail and Outpatient Pharmacies. Certified immunizer, oral contraceptive prescriber, and long-acting injectable administrator preferred. Responsibilities:
- Direct workflow, supervise pharmacy personnel, and ensure completion of all necessary tasks for optimal function of the pharmacy. Responsible for developing and reviewing clinical protocols and operational policies/procedures within the area. Holds the NC Board of Pharmacy licensed Pharmacist in Charge.
- Ensures pharmacy team maintains an exceptional level of service for patients. Addresses patient concerns in a timely manner. Coaches team on service improvement opportunities.
- Coordinates a Pharmacy team's activities and documents progress toward approved team clinical and operational goals.
- Maintains appropriate inventory levels to ensure prescription fulfillment in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains a training program for the team. Mentors colleagues to ensure proficiency of all team members as required.
- Teaches students, residents, and new pharmacy staff and participates in scholarly activities. Acts as a preceptor for residents and pharmacy students.
- Provides formal and informal work performance feedback to team members, including the preparation and administration of performance reviews as required. Provides formal and informal feedback to include corrective action when necessary.
- Manages priorities to meet team/program expectations.
- Creates and/or maintains policies and procedures specific to the practice area. Works collaboratively with retail Pharmacy Coordinators and Johnston Health Pharmacy leadership on process improvement efforts.
- Provides clinical and operational pharmacist services to patients as required.
- Identifies and implements clinical pathway and/or operational process improvement initiatives to provide optimal care while minimizing cost.
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners.
- Participate in candidate interviews and selection. Conducts candidate interviews and selects appropriate candidates for position vacancies as required.
- Support compliance with federal, state, local and institutional policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
