DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps maintain safe, sanitary, and welcoming conditions across the Selinsgrove Center campus through a variety of cleaning and upkeep tasks. The work supports the health, comfort, and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Floor Care: Clean floors by disinfecting, sealing, dusting, and buffing surfaces
  • Surface Cleaning: Disinfect, dust, and polish furniture, fixtures, and high touch areas
  • Outdoor Upkeep: Clean entry walks and outside areas by shoveling snow and sweeping debris
  • Safety Reporting: Report needed repairs or hazards to the supervisor
  • Furniture Moving: Move furniture and equipment between rooms and buildings as needed
  • Equipment Use: Use, store, and maintain approved cleaning chemicals and mechanical equipment safely

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, rotating schedule, with a 30-minute lunch (12:00 PM to 12:30 PM). The schedule rotation includes 4-5 weekends per year.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
